They have very heavy importance on story, characterization, and world exploration and combine the monster-catching feature and combat system of Pokemon game with the gear farming, intense monster-hunting action on Monster Hunter.
Fights are a turn-based affair, where players send their Monstie out to do fight with wild monsters. Accept character of the player fights beside their Monster in the battle. During the battle, the player gets three lives, and if the player or their Monstie killed three times, the game is over.

The Rider can fight by using the weapon, particular special moves and support their Monstie with items. The Monster of the player acts independently, but they can command them to perform particular actions in battle with the help of Kinship Stone. Riders can even ride their Monstie as an amount. Doing this buff their stats and earn access to a super move. Once your enemy Monster is defeated, collect their body parts and bring them back to a blacksmith of the town to get new gear for your Rider.
